Eve Tidwell drove from Georgia carrying a flag (very large to honor …too large to hang) with names & messages for soldiers placed by their Gold Star Families.Eve took the time to take the picture below, after asking me to play something on this stage built at this memorial event in a Crawford Texas area park. Eve Tidwell was presented an award for bringing the flag.
Previously on some very hot Summer days:Eve Tidwell and others like Debi Bohannan above: holding the mic in the picture(Thanks Deb)…. protested from a ditch across from Cindy Sheehan.
I was among this very few in number but intensely patriotic group of supporters of the military, wearing some old white painters paints I found in my closet and a white cap, banging on a white guitar, looking as close to a ghost as I could without a sheet.
Most of the guitar strings were broken quickly, having only a couple remaining after the first few early pounding strokes to protest Sheehan’s, hollering to get my verses heard from the ditch. The words came from the top of my head and burst out my mouth as easy as any lyric had ever come out before.A fool might mistake it for singing as I leaned forward, pounding the last couple of strings resonating towards Cindy’s group. I felt empowered behind a cross I made to honor other fallen American Soldiers lost in all other wars.“Half-million” were the words written on my cross, meaning the half-million soldiers that died in all American wars that Cindy Sheehan’s protest did not include or exploit.
The words on my cross was an attempt to show the ridiculous lack of parity, less than 2500 lost in Iraq at that time I believe. Cindy’s group had planted crosses using those soldiers names with many family members not pleased that their lost loved ones were being used to protest the war they proudly served in including Casey’s own family …the other sheehan family members. In other American Wars we have lost tens of thousands of men in just one battle, we should thank God in this war we haven’t lost many many more.Yes, about the argument…one soldier or man lost is too many…. Might try to mention that in the ears of the thousands a month or more that were dropped alive feet first into a barrel crusher(machine like a large wood chipper) by Saddam Hussein.
We were lucky Saddam was not in control of more biological weapons to send across American borders as he used on his own people. In the ditch with us we had a women from Iraq who was so thankful for our soldiers saving her country and wanting us not to stop them from helping….You just had to listen to her passion for a minute to be inspired to fight.
But, I guess we should have set on our hands like the situation in Rowanda where hell opened up and babies and small chidren were slung against brick walls to their death.
There was a huge convoy that left Iraq into Syria just before the battle, who knows what was on board those trucks…ooops, I’ll move on…can you move on….dot ‘move on’.
Back near Crawford ,I was originally motivated to build my cross by the lie I had seen reported earlier after a Saturday morning visit I had made with a large group to the so called “Camp Casey”.The large group (400) had come to counter protest Cindy’s anti-war group. That evening the media reports on national television expanded the size of the Sheehan protesters numbers to sound as if they had more numbers than our group, who had come to support the troops.I had personally seen with my own eyes that we out numbered cindy’s group probably 10 to one,8 to 1 if you count network reporters and camera men….the reports later that Saturday night on several networks all chimed the same outrageous exaggeration saying:…Cindy’s protesters numbered 450 just to seem to out number the group I had come with. The so called “Camp Casey” probably had barely 50…I heard later they tried to explain the discrepancy of the trumped up numbers by saying that many of Cindy’s group were just driving around somewhere momentarily….What a laugh…I was near the road in the “ditch” most of the time and could see everyone passing ,locals giving us thumbs up in support…..
I had returned to the “ditch” because I knew the same people I was with on Saturday would not be able to return during the middle of the week because they had jobs, unlike the Sheehan group who I later learned were being subsidized by leftist front groups prominently displayed on their website.I was also pushed by remembering the stench of having victory yanked out of our hands and placed in the jaws of defeat by the same numb nuts media in the Vietnam era where we had the definite winning hand ,especially after Tet where the VC was severely crippled and later admissions by leading generals “propaganda was their strongest weapon”. With our leaving we dishonored our war dead and further insults where added by the self serving jerk lies of the kind John Kerry spewed.
I learned the Cindy Sheehan website and Camp Casey was supported financially by a group of Leftest and Communist which included “folks” like Fidel Castro and many others …clearly listed on their Website.
…lyrics rolled off my tongue to expose my frustration as I yelped the declaration of my disgust which was flowing as easy as the sweat off the top of my head & would always end with the chorus ..”Cindy,Cindy how many ghosts did you make today, aiding and comforting the enemy”.Songman Calahan
China reporters not withstanding….The Crawford “Cindy Sheehan protest of the war” … The media made it to look bigger than it was.The words Media driven would be a gigantic understatement.
One reporter tried to pay me (Songman Calahan)not to protest Cindy Sheehan….I asked if he would write this offer down on paper and he did. …I don’t feel like ruining his young career at this stage….
How about a new lesson plan for the college trained reporters and those brilliant tenured professor academic “useful Idiots” that made them what they are today…You don’t create the news you report it ….but….there were so many so called “reporters” following Cindy’s anti-war lock step, how can I just pick on one moron)…keep your popcorn….(I decided to bury it where I and others know where it might be found later (air tight Plastic)…sorry no metal detectors allowed). If this guy becomes another….. Dan “Blather”…which is likely being in the same brain-trust….I have just the story for him to talk about.
‘click & scroll’ ……(See an AP photographer manipulate a couple of female family members of a dead soldier by asking them to pose, having them look down the road…..I’m not sure of his motives, requesting the girls face in the direction they did. (They were told to face in the general direction of Cindy’s group of planted crosses.) It seemed harmless enough at the time but is that the job of a reporting photo journalist?….. I thought I could stay out of the picture by covering my face with the cross….those tough media boys don’t carry swingers).Unfortunately,I might have been rough on this guy (above) as he was probably an independent camera clicker …just got caught up in the foolish frenzy…
……does anyone remember the ‘swinger’?
“I’d rather be a naked cowboy or Joe Dirt…..(ghost w/ painters pants In a ditch in Crawford,TX) …than a USEFUL IDIOT”…songmanc

TODAY….the way we are fighting the war/politically correct (Obama Islama, rules of engagement)…NOT FIGHTING TO WIN….I might be inclined to say,go ahead and bring our troops back within our shores to protect the home front…..but leadership would still have to be removed from the control of the leftist.
